St. Mary's Elementary - Expectations

The following Positive Behavior Matrix was created by both students and teachers. This matrix below explains appropriate behaviors in various settings:

Setting	Be Respectful	Be Responsible	Be Safe
Classroom	Listen attentively Follow classroom rules Treat others how you would want to be treated yourself	Be prepared for class and organize your belongings Be on time	Keep your hands and feet to yourself Walk Stay seated at lunch time until you are dismissed
Corridors	Speak quietly and keep to the right hand side Place all belongings in your locker Keep hands and feet to yourself	Be on time for class Keep lockers clean	Walk whenever in the corridor Ask for help when it is needed
Washrooms	Use an inside voice Respect others' privacy - only one person per cubicle Use appropriate language	Use time wisely After using the washroom, please flush, wash hands with soap and water, and place paper towel in the garbage Take all of your belongings with you when leaving	Keep your hands and feet to yourself Report any missing supplies of any other problems in the washroom to the office Keep your feet on the floor
Gymnasium Music	Be aware of person space/space of others Participate and encourage others to do their best Listen to the speaker	Cooperate with teacher and classmates Be motivated to do your personal best Be responsible for your own actions Come prepared with your supplies	Come prepared for gym with appropriate clothing and sneakers Use all equipment appropriately Follow game rules
Assemblies	Listen to the speaker Keep your hands and feet to yourself Respond appropriately	Show appreciation Come prepared	Sit appropriately Entering and exiting the gymnasium in an orderly way
Bus	Use appropriate language Hands and feet to yourself	Remove all personal belongings from the bus	Stay seated until the bus has come to a complete stop
